About
My name is Daniel Roach and I’m an actor, blogger, writer and part time life coach. I was born in Atlanta, Georgia and quickly started my strange childhood. I was a quirky, but overweight kid who was always more inclined toward creativity than socializing. Growing up overweight taught me a lot of things. I learned to use my mind to great success. I learned very early not put much stock in what other people thought of me. I learned to enjoy my own company and that has served me well to this day. Shy, though I was, I was never at a loss for things to keep me occupied. Some of my very first memories are of creating stories and telling them to myself when I was alone, acting out all of the parts. I was quite the little liar back then and that talent served to make me quite the little actor later on down the road.
As far back as I can remember I have wanted to do great things. Back then I was never afraid to dream big and run headlong after those dreams. When I was fifteen I wrote my first novel, writing 2000 words every night without fail. The novel itself wasn’t a particularly good one, but at over 80,000 words it was quite an accomplishment for a fifteen year old on his summer vacation and two years later I did it again, writing another longer, better novel. After those two projects I took to film, writing, directing, casting, editing and acting in a feature length movie while still in high school.
In the later years of high school and the early years of college I began to loose the spark that had driven me to be so creative when I was younger. I had the desire to create greatness, but lacked the drive. I spent almost four years being lead wherever life decided to take me. I went with the flow and hoped I would go somewhere good. And while my life was never terrible, I was never truly happy and couldn’t understand why. I floundered in mediocrity with no obvious way out. I took a few years off from college to figure life out and figure out where I was going to go next. Somewhere around this time, I changed my life in amazing ways.
Like most people a lot of my change can be attributed to the love of a woman. I began to realize that to get the life that I wanted, I had to create it. Since then I’ve read every self improvement book I could get my hands on. I’ve studied nutrition and begun an exercise regime with great success. I’ve listened to podcasts and seminars, watched tapes and DVD’s, devoured books and blogs. Within just a few short years, I became a completely new person. My confidence increased. My creative drive returned and I began to finally find the will to create great things again. My change has been phenomenal. My change has led me here, to creating this blog to share the things that I’ve learned with others.
About the Blog
There are thousands of blogs out there, but not one of them satisfied me. I wanted to create a place where people could come and learn about real growth. So many places promise the moon, but deliver gimmicks and further unhappiness. They say you can change your life without work and I’m here to tell you that is a lie. Distrust those who tell you that change is easy, or that you can get something for nothing. These people seek only to sell you something that you very likely don’t need.
You can go to many other places on the web and find wishy-washy, vague lists full of “tips and tricks” or you stay here, subscribe and read about how you can begin to make serious changes.
Lasting Changes Require Lasting Effort.
You can change your life, your mind, your body through persistent, lasting effort. Through making your goals, seeing them in your mind and striving for them with every fiber of your being. You can loose fat and build muscle through lasting effort, I am proof of that. You can take control of your life and create the happiness you want, I am proof of that. But you have to start now and you have to stay strong. I takes effort, it takes work. It takes blood, sweat and tears, but if it isn’t worth those things, it isn’t worth having.
I created this blog to be the place on the Internet I wanted to see. This site presents no-nonsense self improvement. If you aren’t willing to hunker down for a long battle, this blog isn’t for you. If, on the other hand, you are truly ready to start fighting tooth and nail for the life you deserve to have, then stay, subscribe to the feed, read everything and welcome to your new home. This site isn’t for everyone. I don’t offer quick fixes, or shortcuts, I don’t believe in them. You have to be willing to look deep inside yourself, face your demons and fight for your right to be happy. Does that sound like you?
Then let’s get started.
